Ostatnio James La Brie, znany głównie jako wokalista Dream Theater, nagrał nowy album solowy, na którym znajduje się kawałek "Jekyll or Hyde". Utwór jest oparty na motywach Skazanych na Shawshank. Niestety nie władam zbyt biegle angielskim, więc nie wiem dokładnie o jakie motywy chodzi.  |

To ja pozwolę sobie przenieść i trochę "podrasować" stosowne posty z GWKC, żeby wszystko było w jednym miejscu:
Coś dla fanów "mocnego uderzenia"... i cyklu "Mroczna Wieża": Hansi Kursch (wok. Blind Guardian) na łamach "Teraz Rock" przyznaje się, że inspiracją (przynajmniej w warstwie tekstowej) nowej płyty supergrupy Demons & Wizards (super dlatego, że jej drugą połową jest niejaki Jon Schaffer (gitara Iced Earth)był cykl "Mroczna Wieża" Stephena Kinga. Hansi skończył właśnie czytać ostatni tom sagi, która wpłynęła tak bardzo, że nie tylko nadał tytuł "Touched By The Crimson King" nowej płycie kapeli, ale też poświęcił "Mrocznej Wieży" kilka utworów: m.in.: "Crimson King", "Terror Train" ("Blaine The Mono") czy "The Gunslinger". Hansi Kursch znany jest ze swojego zamiłowania do literatury fantasy, co wielokrotnie udowodnił na płytach Blind Guardian (choćby "Nightfall In Middle-Earth"). Na płycie Demons & Wizards wypada niezgorzej - osobiście polecam, z uwagi na świetne kompozycje i niebanalne teksty!

Jako, że to taka ciekawostka w sumie, postanowiłem nie zakładać nowego tematu. Otóż, kolejna heavy metalowa grupa złożyła trybut "Mrocznej Wieży" Kinga i popełniła - przynajmniej dwie - kompozycje ściśle związane z tą serią. Przynajmniej dwie, bo co do reszty pewności nie mam, a w "Of Doom and Death" i przepięknej balladzie zatytułowanej (cóż...) "Ballad of Susan" nawiązania są oczywiste i czytelne. Zespół zaś nazywa się Savage Circus
W zasadzie - porównując z Demons & Wizards - niedaleko padło jabłko od jabłoni - kompozycje podobne, brzmienie niemal identyczne a wokal niemal bliźniaczy :--) Nie oznacza to bynajmniej, że muzyka kiepska, czy coś. Co to to nie! "Of Doom and Death" to jedna z najczęściej przeze mnie słuchanych w ostatnim czasie płyt, dlatego bardzo ją wszystkim fanom power metalu i twórczości Kinga polecam!
Poniżej oba wzmiankowane kawałki. "Of Doom and Death" ludziom, którzy metalu raczej nie słuchają może do gustu nie przypaść. Natomiast, sądzę, że "Ballad of Susan" spodoba się każdemu. No, prawie każdemu.

Cześć ! Jestem nową użytkowniczką forum. Kiedyś już tu pisałam - tak pięć lat temu, jeszcze na innym forum - niestety kompletnie nie pamiętam loginu i mam inny. Ale to nie na temat. Mam nadzieję, że nie powtarzam linku z nawiązaniem do Kinga :> 1.16 - chyba jasne nawiązanie do Kubrickowskiego Lśnienia. |
